Holiday Joy – Saturday Sketch
It’s Saturday Sketch day! I’m excited to bring you another sketch for Club Any and Friends Saturday Sketch challenge! I hope you like this one and have some time to participate this holiday week. I know things are crazy busy this week. We are hosting Thanksgiving at our house this week and traveling to another family get together later in the week. It’s going to be tons of fun! I’m a bit nervous about cooking a turkey though.
Alright to the task at hand. 😀 This week I used Cheeky Xmas for my card and I stamped her with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink onto Rustic Cream Papertrey Ink cardstock. I used an Aqua brush and more Brushed Corduroy ink to paint in the image to give it a vintage sepia tone. I really LOVE the way this turned out and I need to try it again. This is my first time to try that out and it was easier than I thought it was going to be and I was really surprised by the results.
After I let her dry I cut her out and mounted her on pop dots on top of an oval that had the Cheeky stamped on it with Brushed Corduroy and was then sponged with more ink as well as stamped with a text stamp and the ink/water splotches from Tim Holtz Bitty Grunge stamps.
To build the background I used some gorgeous paper from The Girls Paperie called Tinsel and Twig. I sponged this up with more distress ink and added a few red rhinestones to finish it off. The inside is similarly layered up and stamped with “Merry Christmas”.
Here’s our sketch:
