It’s Show Time

Hey everyone! It’s time for the first Burtonesque Dolls blog hop! I’m so excited about this!! This group is going to be soooo much fun. Thanks to Betty for inviting me to join and play along!

If you are just arriving from Debbie’s blog you are on the right track! If you just stopped by to visit THANK YOU, and if you want to start at the beginning head to the Burtonesque Dolls blog. Betty got a little game with prizes this week!

Our first hop is dedicated to Beetlejuice! Now I love this movie. It’s the first ever Tim Burton movie I saw and it’s second on my favorite’s list only to Edward Scissorhands which is my all time Johnny Depp/Tim Burton duo love. It’s maybe my favorite movie ever.

We also have a little game going and I have a quote I’m to post so here it is:

“Such horrible news he could not survive”

Do you know which movie it’s from???

Now on to my card!

Burton 1

I used this fantastic Greeting Farm Creepy Cake named Twisted Tea. I LOVE her. She’s so fabulously funky and creepy and just awesome! And a blast to color. I colored her with Copics and cut her out with my Nesties then sponged her (and everything else) with Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy and Aged Mahogany. I created the red background paper using two Unity Sept 09 KOM stamps, Aged Mahogany distress ink and a spray bottle of water. I LOVE the way it turned out. I think spritzing water on my distress ink may be my new favorite technique… just have to keep it away from my digis, lol. I added a bit of green paper from this last seasons Basic Grey Eerie set and some black and white floral paper that I heavily sponged.

Here’s a close up of Miss Twisted Tea:

I hope the Beetlejuice reference comes through… the green hair, the black and white and the deep red… not to mention this Creepy Cake just has a Beetlejuice feel to her. 😀
