Last Flutterby of the Year!
Hey all! It’s the last Flutterby of the year. I’m so happy Danni has given me the opportunity to work on this amazing DT! It’s been so much fun so far!!! And guess what? She’s having a DT call. If you’d be interested in joining the flutter by team from January to June all you need to do to throw your hat in the ring for one of two open spots is to create TWO brand new fluttery creations using a butterfly, angel or fairy, post them to your blog and then link them directly to the InLinkz in this post over at Flutterby. Easy, huh!
Now on to my cards for today! That’s right CARDS with an S!!! I got a little carried away last night and made two cards using the same layout. One is a Flutterby card and the other is a card for a co-worker who just got engaged. 😀
For this card I made a simple layout on kraft stock from Papertrey Ink using My Mind’s Eye Be Loved designer paper from last year. I sponged the edges of everything with Brushed Corderoy Distress Ink and stamps the butterfly from Verve’s Blue Skies stamp set using Memento Rhubarb Stalk on Papertrey Ink Rustick White cardstock. I used an aqua brush to paint in the butterfly with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. I cut out the butterfly using a Nesties Classic Circle die and a Scalloped Circle die. I sponged inside the circle die with more Brushed Corduroy ink. To finish it if off I added a twine bow and and brown button.
This card uses all the same elements from the first card with the exception of the stamps. This card uses the heart and sentiment from Verve’s Love Story stamp set. Pay no attention to the shaky stamping on this one. I’ve got a bit of a cold right now and my hands were shaking from my cold medicine last night and I couldn’t get this to stamp clean to save my life.
If you’d like to join us this week for the Flutterby Wednesday challenge it’s an open challenge this week so you can create anything you like using a butterfly, angel or fairy! We hope you can join us!!
Be sure to check out what the design team has created this week!
