Let Your Dreams Take Flight

I’ve got a quick card to share with you tonight using FTL187 and Taylored Expressions Make It Amazing stamp set. I’ve been watching all the videos from the A Cut Above card classes and it’s had me in the mood to stamp a little differently than I normally do. I started out by stamping the butterflies with gradient shades of red to yellow. To do this I used my Memento Dew Drop ink pads to directly ink the stamps starting in the center and working gradually lighter away from the center. The ink naturally blended on the stamp and paper after it was stamped. To create the background I masked off my cardstock with Post It notes and stamped the smaller butterflies from the Make It Amazing set in the same inks that I used on the larger butterflies. Next I used the coordinating Elegant Butterflies dies to cut out the butterflies. I scored the background paper to highlight the stamped strip and then added a bit of yellow cardstock for the center stripe in the sketch. I mounted the butterflies on foam tape and stamped the sentiment at the bottom using Versafine Onyx Black.

I wish I could say this was super fast to throw together but I seriously labor over clean and simple cards because I feel like with few elements each one becomes more important. I’m glad I did spend the time though because I love this!
