Luv 2 Read
It’s Tiddly Inks Challenge time and this week our challenge is to make a bookmark. I was stumped for a bit but then I saw this lovely Wizardette printed out in my stash and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I colored her with Copics and cut her out. To give her bubbles and wands sparks a little sparkle I used a Sakura Stardust pen. Next I took a Ranger tag and covered it with paper from Tim Holtz Lost and Found paper pad. I then sponged and inked and painted on the paper to distress it a bit. I added a Martha Stewart spider web border underneath everything and lastly I added some Tim Holtz Grunge Block letters. I left the block part of the letters off because they didn’t fit. To transform the letters to what you see here I started by painting them quickly with a black acrylic paint dauber. After the paint dried I sanded them a bit on the edges and sponged them with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink… it looked VERY cool against the black paint. I used some distressed and crinkled seam binding for the bow and tails with a brad for the center of the bow. Lastly I globbed on some Rock Candy Distress Crackle paint. I’d love to say I painted it on but the applicator brush doesn’t really allow for painting. 🙂 When the crackle dried it broke up a bit of the black paint underneath to create a cool distressed look.
