Merry Blooms Kit
Taylored Expressions is releasing a new kit for some fun Christmas in July crafting! The Merry Blooms kit is adorable and perfect for creating a lot of different types of cards… I may have gotten carried away. Take a peek at the kit below!
The first card I made was inspired by the colors of the envelopes in the kit to go a little outside my comfort zone.
I used Dijon, Mulled Wine and Sweet Basil (cardstock and ink) as my color palette. I used a lot of tone one stamping and blending to create the background. For the elements of the background that were stamped using the large background stamp, I used Versamark ink and heat embossed the stamped image in white. I created a frame using the Merry Blooms flower cutouts – layering Mulled Wine over Sweet Basil cutouts to look like leaves and flowers. I added a small frame cut from the Frame in Frame 2 Cutting Plate and added the die cut sentiment. This went together very quickly!

My next card uses a bright fun color palete of Granny Smith and Cherry Pop. I stenciled Cherry Pop right on the Granny Smith cardstock – I had a bit of fear it would dull and turn brown but it actually covered really well! I used Granny Smith for the stamp portion of the background. I stamped the sentiments on Cherry Pop cardstock and embossed with white embossing powder. I die cut and layered with TE Stitched Oval Stackets and TE Petite Scallop Oval Stackets. I added a bit of embellishing with a twine bow and some gold Nuvo glitter dots.
