Mini Slim from Taylored Expressions
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a fabulous start to your week. Today is the Mini Slim Release day from Taylored Expressions. I have two cards to share with you today using the new Mini Slim products and some of my favorites from past releases!
You Inspire Me
To start I created a fairly quick card using Create in Color Background and Tag Team Teacher. These two pair together so well! This card was inspired by my amazing work colleagues and our rough back to school, starting tomorrow. I have hopes to make a few more of these to place in mailboxes as the weeks go on. Teachers, students, and parents are undoubtedly going to need a lot of encouragement as we embark on a school year unlike any other.
To make this card I started by stamping the Create in Color stamp on Sugar Cube cardstock with Oreo ink. I used Copics to color the pencils and used a little bit of C3, C1 and C000 to add shadows under the pencils. The pencils stamp is just short of 6″ wide so I cut the panel out with the Stitched Mini Slim Stacklets so it was a perfect fit. The sentiment is from Tag Team – Teacher and was PERFECT for this card. To make the banner I die cut a few pieces from Simple Strips Backer and selected one that fit the sentiment and stamped the clear sentiment on the banner. The tiny heart is also from Tag Team – Teacher, stamped in Watermelon ink just below the red pencil.
Oh Shitake, I forgot your birthday!
The second card I made for today is a birthday card near and dear to my heart… the belated birthday card. No matter my good intentions, my time management skills just aren’t as good as others (possibly because my creative brain wants to do ALL. THE. THINGS.) and I rarely get birthday cards in the mail on time. They usually get sent before the birthday but not in enough time to reach their destination so I reach for the belated birthday stamps A LOT.
The Turnip the Beet stamp set is one of my FAVORITES, because I love a good punny sentiments, the veggies are hilarious and like I said… belated birthday ready to go!
To get started on this card I stamped all of the veggies from Turnip the Beet on Sugar Cube cardstock with Oreo ink and started coloring with Copics. I knew I would be using the mushroom but I wanted to have the others ready to go as I started designing. The Masking Stencils Mini Slim Windows along with the Mini Slim Stencil – Zig Zag were used to create the backgrounds for the veggies.
Next, I added the beet and the turnip to the inside along with the other half of the sentiment and my card was done – very quick and easy to assemble!
