Oh, Alice Chapter 4 – Picturing Wonderland
It’s Oh, Alice time! (I’m a little tardy today due to some unexpected family happenings but all is well now.)
“Thus grew the tale of Wonderland:Thus slowly, one by one,Its quaint events were hammered out -And now the tale is done,And home we steer, a merry crew,
Beneath the setting sun.
Beneath the setting sun.
Alice! a childish story take,And with gentle hand lay it were Childhood’s dreams are twined. In Memory’s mystic band,Like pilgrim’s wither’d wreath of flowers
Pluck’d in a far-off land…”
We have another sketch Challenge today, this time by Pam. And I think it’s absolutely fabulous!
Here’s Pam’s sketch and my card:
I used my drawing/digi of Alice and colored her with Prismacolors and OMS. I’m a little sad to admit the I had to cut a little bit of the scene out to accommodate the card size. I’m finding I’m really picky about my colored edges, lol.
For this card I used Basic Grey Nook and Pantry paper along with some Bazzill cardstock. I really tried to work in the center circle of Pam’s sketch but I didn’t have a Slice card or Nestie big enough to show enough of Alice so I settled for photo corners and flowers.
The flower clusters are made of Prima flowers, PTI buttons, Slice Basics 2 swirl, and my Martha Stewart branch punch.
I sponged TH Walnut Distress Ink on any paper that would show it and started layering things up. I’m not sure if I’m over using these flowers at the corners of my images but I really like the look. 😀
Here’s a close up of the coloring:
If you’d like to participate with us this week head over to the Oh, Alice blog for full details and for some gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the Oh, Alice design team. The keyword for this week is OAC4. There is no time limit for this week’s sketch so play when you can!
Hope you are having a great weekend!
