Sending Love, LOTS of Love!
Hi everyone! I hope you had wonderful holidays and are recovering and are easily getting back to normal. School started up for me yesterday with a full day of 7th grade – whew, I’m tired, lol. Every year I tell myself I won’t completely wreck my sleep schedule and every single winter break I wreck it anyway!
Today I have 4 fun projects to share with you using new goodies from Taylored Expressions. First up I have a set of cards using the new Create-in-Quads – Hearts Layering Stencil. This stencil is so fun and will create endless possibilities for Valentine-themed cards.
I used Pineapple, Cookie Monster, Plum Punch and Guava for my card set and used a bit of soft stenciling on each quadrant to create some subtle gradients. I paired the stencil up with Love and Hugs sentiments and coordinating dies.
I also added a bit of gel pen and die cut hearts from Little Bits – Hearts for extra pop.

My second card features an adorable new Gus and Gertie stamp set: Gus & Gertie – Best Buds. I kept my card simple by stamping Gus & Gertie on the moon with Oreo ink on Sugar Cube cardstock and coloring with Copics. I stamped the image twice for extra stars. The background was created by layering Blueberry, Blue Corn, Plum Punch, Eggplant and Lime Zest ink on Confetti Cake cardstock. I like to start with light blue cardstock for backgrounds like this so it doesn’t take as much ink to cover and so there is a richer look to the layering. After inking I splattered with Oreo re-inker and Sugar Cube re-inker. I attached everything to a Mini Slim Top Folding Card panel and I was done!

My third card features a fun new cutting plate die – Stitched with Love Cutting Plate. I also used Bouquet Whimsy with the coordinating dies. This card started with a Sugar Cube top folding Mini Slim Card Base that I covered with Pineapple cardstock. I then die cut a Sugar Cube with Petite Scallop Mini Slim Stacklets. For the next layer of the panel I die cut a piece of Guava cardstock with the Stitched with Love Cutting Plate then the Stitched Mini Slim Stacklets. After die cutting I ink blended Guava ink around the edges for a subtle fade. The bouquet was made by stamping many of the Bouquet Whimsy stamps in Granny Smith, Peapod, Guava, Cookie Monster, Candy Corn, Pineapple and Plum Punch ink. After die cutting with the coordinating dies I arranged the flowers and stems and added a twine bow. The sentiment is from Love & Hugs with the coordinating dies, stamped in Plum Punch.

The last card I have to share with you features Chip & Charlie Valentine Stamp & Die Combo. I stamped the image on Sugar Cube with Oreo ink and die cut with the coordinating die. The background scene was created by blending Cookie Monster, Blue Raspberry, Lime Zest and Peapod ink on Confetti Cake cardstock. I used the Stencil Strips Clouds and Stencil Strips Grass stencils to add subtle depth to the inking. To finish off I die cut Stitched Cloud Duo from Sugar Cube and layered them with foam tape.
