Hi everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Thursday!! I have two posts today so if you are looking for my TE Release Day project please click here.
Today’s Share Joy Challenge is a sketch and color challenge and I attempted to use both but I think I took too many liberties with the colors for it to actually count. 🙂 My card today was so much fun to make and I used a new technique that I have never done before. 🙂 To start my card I pulled out a piece of watercolor paper (Strathmore 400 series coldpress) and stamped a cluster of roses using Simply Stamped Roses and Distress Ink/markers. But here is the trick – I only stamped the detail layer of the roses and then I went back with a paint brush and water and lightly activated the ink and moved it around a bit to fill in the roses. I did the same with the leaves and stem. I added a bit of blue to the background to soften the scene. Once this was dry I die cut the image with Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and matted it with Oreo also cut with Stitched Rectangle Stacklets. For the sentiment I used a TE Thanks freebie that came with a previous purchase. I cut this out three times out of Sugar Cube and glued them together for easy dimension (this is my solution to popping up a sentiment that is too thin to hide foam tape). I added a couple of wood veneer hearts and I was done!
Here’s a closer look at the flowers:
Overall I think it turned out great! The only thing I wish I hadn’t done was stamp that one leave over the flower bud, otherwise it was a very fast simple solution to watercoloring!

Roses are my favorite flower so really loved this card too! Thanks for sharing your technique for stamping and coloring the flowers as I hope to try it too.
Keep up the good work!
Such a beautiful card! Love the watercolored appearance!
Gorgeous! I have been wanting to try this with the SS flowers but I doubt mine will still look like flowers.. LOL. Your roses are stunning!
An absolutely stunning and soft look!
Beautiful, Jen. I will definitely have to give this technique a try. Thank you for sharing.
