Share Joy Challenge 26: Egg-stra Special
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic Thursday! Today we have a new Share Joy Challenge with Taylored Expressions! Today’s challenge is a sketch and/or inspiration photo. This week I opted to use the Inspiration Photo because I need to get going on the cards I put in my kiddo’s Easter Baskets!
My card uses Easter Wishes from Taylored Expressions and I did some quick watercoloring over the super cute Easter egg stamps. To do this I stamped the eggs on watercolor cardstock using Versamark and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. Next I wet the entire egg with water being careful not to go outside the lines of the egg, the embossing powder helps a lot with this. I used a bit of Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick and Scattered Straw Distress Ink that I smeared on an acrylic block to start dabbing paint into the water with a paintbrush. I let the paint mix on it’s own, just putting the colors next to each other. This gave the eggs a nice tie-dye effect and made for super fast coloring. I let the paint dry on it’s own. This did take about 20 minutes. I didn’t use a heat gun as I wanted the paint to have a chance to mix naturally on the paper. The rest of the card just had to be assembled after sponging the background with Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass.
Here’s a look at the Share Joy Challenge for this week:
Thanks so much for stopping by!
