Taylored Expressions April Release Day: Gift Packaging

On the Mend by Jen Shults

Hi everyone! It’s Taylored Expressions April Release Day!!! All of the wonderful things we’ve shared with you this week are now available for purchase over on the TE Store!

Today I have two projects to share with you – a get well gift using the new Little Bits – Bandage with the Matchbox and some gift packaging using Initially Numbers. I was SO happy when I saw this Little Bit – Bandage… it’s just adorable! This little gift box was quick to whip up. I die cut the Matchbox from Salt Water Taffy cardstock and five bandages from Toffee Cardstock.

Next I stamped the hearts from Matchy Backgrounds on Sugar cube and Toffee using Cherry Pop ink. I trimmed the Toffee piece of fit inside the bottom of the box and stamped Hope You Are on the Mend from In & Out Get Well. I die cut the Sugar Cube panel using the Matchbox frame and matted it with Cherry Pop. I attached the bandages to the front and added the tiniest Heart Stacklets die cut from Cherry pop to the center.

My second project features the Initially Numbers dies. As soon as I saw these I knew I wanted to use these on a gift. My daughter turns 13 this year, actually in 18 days – she’ll tell you, and I have this gift box ready to go just for her. I created the flowers on the box using TE’s 100% Wool Felt and the Bloomin’ Stacklets 2 dies in a variety of colors. To make these flowers you die cut 4 flowers of the same size and one smaller flower. Fold the four that are the same size into 1/4’s and stitched them at the point so they stay. Next attach them to the smaller flower die cut to create a poofy flower. I’ve found that glue dots are the perfect adhesive for this – it holds securely and doesn’t absorb into the felt. I added leaved die cut using Bloomin’ Accessories and attached these to a bow I made from wired ribbon. I die cut the numbers from Oreo cardstock and attached them to a Toffee cardstock tag cut with Tag Stacklets 1. Now to hide this so Evey doesn’t find it!
