Taylored Expressions: Big Grumpy Easter

Hi everyone! I hope your week is going well! It’s been very busy around here. I’m in my final semester of graduate school (WOOHOO!!!) and my last to classes are really putting me through my paces but in a good way.

Today I have two cards to share with you using Big Grumpy Easter. My first card uses Big Grumpy – Cat (LOVE HIM) along with the accessories from Big Grumpy Easter.

To make this card:

Step 1: Create an A2 vertical cardbase from Sugar Cube cardstock. On another piece of Sugar Cube stamp Big Grumpy Cat and the Big Grumpy Easter accessories with Oreo ink and die cut with the coordinating dies. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the sign with Oreo ink. Color with Copics or coloring medium of choice.

Step 2: Cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Sugar Cube. Adhere the largest square masking stencil to the cardstock with tape. Using blender brushes ink blend Sprinkles ink 3/4 of the way down from the top fading all the way out. Blend Peapod up 1/4 of the way fading into the Sprinkles ink. Splatter lightly with Copic White ink or a bit of the Sugar Cube refill ink. Let dry or heat set. Die-cut with the largest Stitched Rectangle Stacklet die.

Step 3: Adhere the background to the cardbase with foam tape. Adhere Big Grumpy Cat to the background, again with foam tape. Add the ears and eggs with liquid adhesive or foam tape.

My second card features Big Grumpy Cat colored slightly different with a different sentiment and similar but different layout, lol.

To make this card:

Step 1: Create an A2 vertical cardbase from Cookie Monster cardstock. Adhere the herringbone stencil over the top with tape and stencil Sugar Cube ink with a foam applicator. I used two layers of ink to get a bright pattern. Tip** If you are only going to see the outside edge of the cardbase, only stencil around the edges to save ink. Heat set lightly, set aside.

Step 2: Stamp Big Grumpy Cat and Big Grumpy Easter accessories on Sugar Cube with Oreo ink. Die-cut all with coordinating dies. Stamp the sentiment on the sign with Oreo ink. Color with Copics or your coloring medium of choice.

Step 3: Cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ piece of Sugar Cube and adhere to the large oval Masking Stencil with tape. Ink blend Cookie Monster and Peapod ink with blender brushes to create the sky and ground. Die-cut with the largest Stitched Rectangle Stacklets die.

Step 4: Adhere the background to the cardbase with foam tape. Adhere the cat to the center of the oval with foam tape. Adhere with accessories with liquid adhesive or foam tape.
