Let me tell you those Detail Blender Brushes are amazing and the new stencils are FANTASTIC!!
I created 4 cards using the Create in Quads Poster Prints that give off some amazing Henri Matisse Flower Market vibes!!! To start I decided to go with a color cardstock base using Cotton Candy and inked on top of that. My color palette was intentionally chosen for how the colors would mix and blend on the blue base. For greens I used Lime Zest and Cilantro, for the purples I used Strawberry Milkshake and Lollipop (and the totally give off a Grape Jelly and Plum Punch look on the blue), for yellows I used Mango and Honey and Sugar Cub for the white.
I learned a few things in this experiment that will hopefully encourage you to try this as well. So here are my tips:
- Test our your colors on a scrap of your base color before you start so you get the colors you want.
- Sugar Cube can be used as a base under other colors for brighter, truer colors on the color cardstock! This will require inking twice, drying the Sugar Cube and cleaning the stencil in between, but it does work very well!
- So colors of cardstock take in better than other so test, test, test before starting.
After I fully inked all of the panels and the Sugar Cube was dry (heat setting worked great). I cut the panels apart and splattered with white and black. The sentiments are all from All Together Occasions 2, stamped on Sugar Cube with VersaFine Clair – Nocturn and die cut with the coordinating die.

In addition to the Poster Prints, I was able to use the gorgeous Freebies with purchase for today – the NEW gold sparkle embossing powder ($100 Freebie) and Twinkle Lights 6×6 background stamp ($200 Freebie). I paired these up with some previously released Christmas goodies for a rustic/elegant Christmas card.
I started by stamping the Twinkling Lights background on Watermelon cardstock with Versamark ink. I added the gold sparkle embossing powder and heat set (this photo does not do that sparkle justice!). Next I blending Mulled Wine ink around the edges. For the center I layered a Toffee circle and Granny Smith circle (inked with Sweet Basil). Around one edge I added greens and flower from Winter Greens in Sweet Basil, Jalapeno and Watermelon. The flower centers are Gold Glitter Drops and I added a twine bow to finish it off.
