Taylored Expressions Feb. Sneak Peeks: Botanical Fun!
Hi there! It’s day two of Taylored Expressions February release sneak peeks. Today I’m sharing two cards that show off some gorgeous new TE flower stamps and lots of coloring.
First up is a card featuring the new Botanical Beauty Edger Stamp. This stamp is really versatile and does not have to be fully colored but I couldn’t resist.
How to make this card:
Step 1: Stamp the Botanical Beauty stamp on Sugar Cube with Oreo ink using a MISTI or stamp positioning tool. Die cut with the coordinating edger die. (I like to die cut before I spend a long time coloring that way if a mistake is made hours aren’t lost.) Color with Copics or other coloring medium using desired colors.
Step 2: Make a horizontal A2 cardbase out of Sugar Cube. Blend Blue Raspberry and Cookie Monster ink along the folded edges, curving slightly so it’s lighter toward the center.
Step 3: Stamp Simple Strips – Sympathy on Oreo Cardstock with Versamark and heat emboss with white. Die cut with the Simple Strips die. Cut a .75″ strip of black and white diagonal striped paper from Playful Patterns Black & White paper pack.
Step 4: Assembly. Glue the black and white stiped paper to the bottom of the cardbase. Add foam tape to the back of the Botanical Beauty cut out and adhere overlapping the diagonal stiped paper. Adhere sentiment strip with foam strip over the bottom edge. Add sequins or NUVO Crystal Drops for an accent.

The second card I made for today features a new addition to the Big Blooms lineup, Big Blooms – Daffodils. For this card I decided to do a little no line coloring and keep things simple for the layout.
How to make this card:
Step 1: Create an A2 vertical Sea Salt cardbase. Cut a smaller piece of Sugar Cube (I used 4″ x 5.25″.) Using blender brushes, brush Sprinkles ink along the left edge, gradually fading out completely. Wrap edge with twine and secure on the back.
Step 2: Stamp Simple Strips – Sympathy on Mocha cardstock with Veramark and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Die cut with coordinating Simple Strips die. Set aside.
Step 3: With a MISTI or other stamp positioner, stamp the Daffodils on Sugar Cube with Sea Salt ink (I stamped 3 times so I could see the ink well enough to color). Die-cut with coordinating die. Color with Copic markers using the no-line coloring technique (you could also use Oreo ink and color with desired coloring medium).
Step 4: Assembly. Adhere flowers to cardbase with foam tape. Attach sentiment with foam tape strip. Add rhinestones with liquid adhesive along with twine trip.
