Taylored Expressions January Sneak Peek: Valentine Doodles and Rose Bouquet

Hugs and Kisses, handmade card by Jen Shults

It’s preview time at Taylored Expressions and today I have two projects for you! I’m featuring two new stamps sets and a bunch of dies that will be released tomorrow!! We’ll have a week’s worth of inspiration for you, though, don’t you worry about that!

My first project features the new and gorgeous addition to the Flower Bouquet Petite Stamp sets, Rose Bouquet. These gorgeous flowers, illustrated by Nancy McKinney, feature on large bouquet of roses and 5 sentiments. All Taylored Expressions stamps are made of the highest quality red rubber and are premounted on cling foam and trimmed so they are ready to use out of the box! They also come with a plastic panel for easy storage in the Petite Storage Boxes that hold up to 6 Petite sets.

This card is for my mom for Valentine’s Day (Mom don’t read this). She loves the bouquet stamps! 🙂 To start my card I stamped the image on Choice Snow White cardstock and colored it with Copic Markers. I then die cut it using the Label Stacklets 2 dies, matting it with cardstock from the Valentine Project Pantry kit featuring Bo Bunny’s Love Letters. I used the new Hearts Cutting Plate for one of my background panels. To create that background panel I die cut the cutting plate but I had to make it fit my square project so what I ended up doing was gluing the cut piece to a smaller piece of cardstock of the same color and then very carefully went around the edges and trimmed the extra off. I layered the seam with ribbon and the bow cluster features ribbon from the Project Pantry kit as well as twine thread (no way!!) and a sentiment from the set die cut using brand new Designer Mini Tags which are SO FUN!

My second card I have been DYING to share for a while! I got started on this one really early – which if VERY unlike me, lol. I think this card is going to be for my husband, I think. It’s a little fussy for him but I love this card so much, lol.

I used Valentine Doodles illustrated by Nancy McKinney. This set features 11 images and 7 sentiments. I just happened to have put a bug in Taylor’s ear about using this sentiment and I’m so so happy she did!

I tried out the chalkboard technique for my card but I didn’t quite dust up the ‘board’ as much as I’d have liked because I wanted the sentiment to remain clearly visible. I used Authentique’s Lovely paper pad as well as some kraft and red cardstock. My die cuts are from the brand new Cupid’s Arrows die set. I LOVE this die set. I can’t tell you how much, lol. You are going to be seeing it a lot around here! I finished the card off with a bit of burlap twine thread. My layout is from Deconstructed Sketch 82.
