Hi everyone! It’s day three of Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks and today I have a set of mini cards for you featuring the super adorable Calendar Critters stamp set. This set is so seriously adorable. I LOVE it. I was only able to get four cards ready for today but I have plans to make a whole slew of these to use as little lunch box cards for my kiddos.
So let’s have a closer look. The first two little cards feature the super cute little fall raccoon playing in leaves and the Halloween bat. I watercolored all of the images by stamping them on watercolor paper using Stazon Jet Black and then used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to paint them and used a waterbrush here and there to blend. I die cut the images using the coordinating die set, Calendar Critter dies.
The background for each card was created by die cutting watercolor paper with Stitched Circle Stacklets and then watercoloring a simple scenic background using Distress Re-inkers. I tried to keep the different background themed to the images.
To finish off the little scenes I die cut a few elements from the Build a Scene Calendar dies and added them in where they worked best.
I stamped out four sentiments from Critter Correspondence on Oreo cardstock and heat embossed them with white embossing powder and then die cut them with the smallest Stitched Banner Stacklets die.
The background panels were die cut with Stitched Rectangle Stacklets and matted with Sugar Cube. A couple of the backgrounds were embossed with TE embossing folders.
The finished size of these little cards is 3’x4″ so they are perfect for little notes or lunchboxes!

OK, you’ve totally convinced me I neeeed these calendar cuties. (Tell Taylor she got the name wrong! LOL.) You’ve done an outstanding job of making these cute notes. I love the idea of watercoloring the backgrounds and your coloring of the critters is awesome. Thanks for the great ideas.
Love these cards. The backgrounds are just perfect.
Jen, wonderful colourful cards. I love how you did the backgrounds to suit the theme. I cant say I have ever heard of Happy Turkey Day, maybe its an American thing. You have highlighted the stamps perfectly, well done.
