Today we are previewing two new sets…. Glad Tidings and Wreaths of Joy. I am working with Glad Tidings today.
Glad Tidings is a super cute spiritual Christmas set brought to us by Doug Applegate that includes a build it your self nativity scene and 5 sentiments.
I went a little masking crazy again with today’s card, lol. I used a total of 6 stamps from the Glad Tidings set and one of the new sentiments from the FABULOUS Banner Holiday set. I hope this is helpful for anyone planning to use this set but here is the order I used when I stamped out the scene. I basically work from front to back of the scene so the donkey/mule came first, Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus second, the shelter, the palm tree and then the star was stamped out separate. Each time I stamped an image I immediately stamped it off without re-inking onto a large Post It note pad that was waiting near by, making sure the image over lapped onto the sticky strip as much as possible. I would then cut out the image as precisely as possible trying to stay to the middle of the ink lines and then I’d pop it on top of what I had just stamped out. Repeat, repeat, repeat until I had everything all done. I used the out of the box technique to cut out the scene before I colored it. (I wanted to make sure it came out okay before using that much Copic ink.) I layered it up on my card and stamped out the sentiment using It’s a Banner Day 2 and Banner Holidays in Alabaster Color Box Chalk Ink and die cut it using the It’s a Banner Day 2 die.
All of the gorgeous papers for this card came from the Holiday Wonder Project Pantry Kit featuring:
