TE/Brutus Monroe Collaboration
Hi everyone! Taylored Expressions is teaming up with Brutus Monroe to bring you a brand new Simple Strips set – Simple Strips Crafty. I love this set. It’s perfect in so many ways and if it’s not a birthday card I’m mailing it’s usually a card to a crafty friend.
I made three cards using this set and they are all vastly different styles to show the versatility of this awesome set.
My first card is a little bit punny, paring the Simple Strips Crafty up with the Mythical Grumplings dragon. I kept this one pretty simple, using scraps from my TE patterned paper and the TE Over the Rainbow die.
My second card is actually a pair of cards combining three of my favorite products, the Spring Fling layering stencils, Framed Script – Hello and Simple Strips.
This was an easy pair to make. I stenciled one full panel of the Spring Fling Layering Stencil, added some Copic details and then cut the panel in half use on two card. I cut six of the hello dies to layer together with vellum between the 1st and 2nd layer, added a little twine and the Simple Strips and done!
My third card is a bit more clean and simple, using just the Hexagon Masking Stencils and Simple Strips Crafty.
To make this card I started by lightly sketching out some guidelines in pencil so I could be sure to keep the stencil aligned as I blended. I then started with Cookie Monster and worked down to Lime Zest, Lemon Meringue, Candy Corn and Cherry Pop ink. It was pure luck that the hexagons spanned the paper perfectly (or Taylor and Laurie designed it that way!). I trimmed the edges, added a bit of patterned paper, the sentiments and some clear drops and done!
