TE | Fun Foil Palooza!!
Happy Tuesday!!! I hope you are having a wonderful day so far. It’s rainy and cold here in Kansas City BUT I’m on Spring Break (finally!) so today will be spent curled up with a blanket, fire place and a good book so that is a WIN!
Today is the TE Fun Foil Extravaganza and we have some fun stuff to share with you today! If you’re interested in seeing all of the foils being release, be sure to scroll to the bottom. There are some amazing “I want it all” bundles (that I will be buying!).
My first card uses ALL of the new foils in Taylor’s Rainbow along with a new Foil It pack, Foil It – Stripes. To foil this one I trimmed off little half inch sections of foil and carefully laid them over the foil it and gently put it through my Mini Minc using Taylor’s foil shim. The shim has been a game changer for me. I used to have trouble with my carrier sheet bubbling/wrinkling and getting inconsistent foil adhesion. Now everything comes out super smooth every time. I use heat level 3.
I trimmed the foil panel to just us a bit of it. For the background, I blended Cookie Monster in on a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock. Hello, It’s Me was stamped on Sugar Cube with Versafine Clair black ink and die cut with the coordinating die. After arranging everything I added a few dots with white and black gel pens and a few accents on the Hello.

My second card uses another Foil It pack that I’m SO happy to see, Foil It Mini Slim Essential Patterns, Vol. 2. I LOVE this pack. I started by foiling with Champagne foil and then ink blending with Tropical Punch and Sour Gummy over the top of the foil. Next I stamped and colored the flowers from Endless Joy and the leaves from Bold Branches. I was testing out a new pack of colored pencils with these. I used Amazon’s Amazon Basics Premium Colored Pencils and they are actually pretty good! They are blendable and buildable. Not as soft as Prismacolors or Polychromos but at the much lower price point they aren’t bad! I did NOT blend with odorless mineral spirits, I just blended with the pencils themselves.
After coloring and die cutting I layered it all together with a vellum banner from Stitched Banner Stacklets and a sentiment from Mini Strips – Floral and a few Sugar Cube Enamel Dots.
***Tip – die cut before you color if using colored pencil because tape can pull pencil off the cardstock.
