TE June Release Day: USA and S’mores!

Land of the Free, handmade card by Jen Shults, stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions

Hi everyone! It’s Taylored Expressions June RELEASE day!! Woohoo!! All of the fantastic products we have been sharing over the last week are now available for purchase over at the TE shop! Today I am revisiting a product I used yesterday and sharing a card using a new product that I haven’t used yet this week. 🙂

My first card uses the Caps Lock – USA die again but this time hopefully with a different look. I started my card by sponging two pieces of Sugar Cube cardstock – the first with Cherry Pop, fading to white(ish) and the second with Blue Corn, Blue Raspberry, Cookie Monster and Confetti Cake all in descending lightnesses.

I die cut Caps Lock – USA from the Cherry Pop sponged cardstock and I die cut a medium sized Stitched Circle Stacklet from the cardstock sponged with the different blues. I adhered the letters to the circle and then attached a Double Ended Flag Banner die cut from Blue Corn and stamped/embossed with Land of the Free. Next I used the Here Comes the Sun stencil to sponge Cherry Pop on Sugar Cube cardstock. I attached everything together and mounted it on a Cherry Pop cardbase using foam tape. I added three small Sugar Cube enamel stars to finish off the card. 🙂

My second card features a new die set that is just so adorable – S’more Than a Feeling. This die set actually goes perfect with my first card because every year during our Fourth of July Celebration we cook s’mores (unless it’s raining)!!

I started by die cutting all of the pieces from cardstock that matched the object and then sponged the marshmallows with toffee to make them look cooked. Next I used the Set the Scene – Clouds stencils to make a sky scene on Sugar Cube cardstock using Confetti Cake ink. I die cut the grass panel using Build a Scene – Rolling Hills from Peapod and stamped the lower center portion with Sweet Basil ink and a sentiment from Ooey Gooey Stamp & Die Combo.

I used foam tape here and there to help elevate layers and arranged the s’mores around the campfire. I almost made one of the marshmallows a burned marshmallow but decided – eh, that’s gross! 🙂
