TE June Sneak Peeks: Tiki’s and Hollyhocks!!
Hi! It’s time for Taylored Expressions June Sneak Peeks and today we have a LOT of fun and festive new products to share with you! All of the products we share this week will be available for purchase Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 7 am PST.
Taylored Expressions is introducing a new coloring product this month – Liquid Watercolors in 12 TE coordinating shades. I am SO IMPRESSED with these watercolors. They were wonderful to color with, have bold intense colors that stay true, mix wonderfully, and my favorite quality – they are layerable! One of the things I love about artist watercolors is that once they dry on the paper they are about 90% permanent. You can lift/lighten a little but not a lot and this allows you to do multiple light layers, glazing, to achieve a wonderful rich deep watercolor look – a look you can’t get with dye inks because they reactivate with water and bleed. TE’s new Liquid Watercolors allow you to create these wonderful layers quickly and easily!
I paired the watercolors up with a new Big Blooms stamp, Big Blooms – Hollyhocks. This is a gorgeous new addition to the Big Blooms line that was so fun to color up! I also used a new stencil from TE, Rise and Shine Stencil.
Here’s a closer look at the watercolor – you can see the glazing in the leaves where I layered Lemon Meringue and Plum Punch over the Peapod to create variations in the foliage.
Here’s a look at all the new Liquid Watercolor colors – a full range of wonderfully bold and bright colors to get your collection started!!

My second card uses a fun new Stamp & Die Combo from TE, Tiki Time Stamp & Die Combo. I paired this up with a ton of new products!!
I started by stamping the Tiki on TE Watercolor Cardstock with Oreo ink and watercoloring it with the new liquid watercolors (listed below). I die cut the tiki with the coordinating dies and set him aside. I built the scene by cutting a piece of Sugar Cube and stenciling the Here Comes the Sun stencil with Pineapple ink, then I removed the stencil and sponged on Lemon Meringue ink in the white spaced. I stamped a variety of flowers from Tropical Florals and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I stamped the sentiment on Blue Raspberry cardstock with Versamark and embossed with TE Fine Detail Embossing Powder in White. I stamped the triangle designs to the left and right of the sentiment in Blue Raspberry.
I fiddled a bit with the flowers around the tiki to get the right layout and then used foam tape to attached a couple of the layers for depth. 🙂
