TE June Sneak Peeks: Hello Sunshine

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic week so far! Today I’ve got another card for you today from Taylored Expressions June Release. They are adding some super fun new dies to the Build a Scene series and I couldn’t resist showing off some of the brand new inks as well! Remember, all of the new TE goodies we are sharing this week are available Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 9 am CST!

I’m sharing Build a Barn and Build a Scene Farm Fence with you today. This card was inspired by all the time spent at my in-law house. They live on an old catfish farm and while all the breeding wells have long since been drained there are still many days where we head out there the night before to get up with the sun and jump on a tractor to get ahead of the 15 hours of mowing it takes to keep the grass under control. It’s well worth it as there are some amazing sunrises that come up over the top of the pond.

Hello Sunshine Build a Barn

My card started off with a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock cut to cover an A2 sized card. I sponged on the sunrise using TE’s new (and AMAZING) dye ink starting the Lemon Meringue for the sun and then fading through Candy Corn, Strawberry Milkshake, Lollipop and Jelly Donut. This ink is so unbelievably amazing to blend!

Next I cut a piece of Granny Smith cardstock with the wavy Build a Scene – On the Road street. I sponged Peapod ink along the bottom of this so the piece fades up to lighter near the sun. I used the adorable new Build a Scene Farm Fence die to cut the fence. I die cut all of the pieces for Build a Barn our of Watermelon, Sugar Cube, Oreo, and Potato Chip cardstock and assembled the barn. The barn is popped up on foam tape (the weather vane is not because it’s tiny). To finish off I added a windmill cut using Little Bits Windmill. I decided to use Oreo for this as it’s so far in the distance and into the sun. I cut two strips of Peapod using the Wispy Grass border die and popped those up at the bottom of the card and along the bottom of the barn.
