Good morning! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. It is my last full week before I head back to school and I am excited for a new school year.
I have two projects to share with you using some new products from Taylored Expressions that are near and dear to my heart: School Daze and Sports Plays.
My first project is a set of four tags using Little Bits – Volleyball and Nothing But Net. I coach Volleyball at the middle school that I teach at and each year we have a mid-season and end of season tournament. These tournaments are long days and many of the girls that play have not attended one before so I put together healthy snack bags for them to TRY to keep them away from the snack bar so they can keep up their energy if we make it to bracket play. These little tags will be perfect to add to the snack bags with their jersey numbers at the top.
To make these tags I used Tag Stacklets 4 and Tag Reinforcements for the base. I stamped Nothing But Net on Sugar Cube cardstock with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink and heat embossed it with TE’s Black Detail Embossing Powder. trimmed this to fit the middle of the tag like a volleyball net and then added the net trim along the top and bottom using Easy Strips – 1/4″ Patterns (the x pattern). For the volleyball I die cut it multiple times using Pineapple, Black Licorice, Earl Grey and Sugar Cube and pieced it together to look like the volleyballs we practice with in our school colors. The sentiments are from Mini Strips Stamp – New Seasons.

To complete the set I made a matching card to go with the tags. There are 3 volleyball coaches at the school I teach at so I made one for each of the other coaches to start the season.
To make this card I started by stamping Nothing But Net on Sugar Cube with Versafine Clair Nocturne and heat embossing it with TE’s Black Detail Embossing Powder. I layered this over an A2 cardbase. Next I cut a panel of Pineapple cardstock and embossed it with the Swiss Dots – Embossing Folder. To make the Pennants I foiled Foil It Perfect Pennant Team Spirit with Holographic Gold Glitter Fun Foil and then die cut the Pennants. I used Pineapple and Black Licorice cardstock for the extra pieces. The sentiments are from the Perfect Pennant Team Spirit stamp set, stamped on Sugar Cube with Versafine Clair – Nocturne and heat embossed with black embossing powder then die cut with the coordinating dies.
When assembling everything I popped up the center panel on foam tape and added little strips of black cardstock to the top and bottom and offset the panel a little to the top. I added a the Little Bits – Volleyball and You’re #1 to the bottom. This card is fairly simple but has lots of fun texture and shine to make it pop.
