Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! It’s been a little while since I’ve been able to post and create and I’ve missed it! The day before Mother’s Day my mom fell and broke her femur. It lead to two surgeries a longer than expected hospital stay and rehab and a bit of a challenging recovery back to walking. I’m happy to say she is doing much better now and no longer needs live in care (my father passed 18 years ago and I live the closest to her). So! I am very happy to be back and can’t wait to share what I’ve made with you.
This week at Taylored Expressions. we are sharing some second chance $100 freebies that were released over the last six months along with some new products to go with them. My first project uses All Planned Out 3 – this is a card layout die set that allows you to quickly put together a card – these are great especially when you’re in a hurry or struggling with layout ideas.

I paired up All Planned Out 3 with Poppy Fields Layering Stencil. I used Guava and Fruit Punch, Cilantro and Poppy Seed ink on the stencil. I paired that up with Pineapple, Toffee and Guava cardstock.

My second project features an add-on product that works with the Bold Beams Cutting Plate, Bold Beams Layering Stencil. For my card I did not use the cutting plate – just the layering stencil. (This card was a hit with my husband who keeps a stash of cards at work for his employees.)

I started by inking the stencil on Sugar Cube using Lime Zest faded to Lemon Meringue and Poblano Pepper faded to Blue Raspberry. After inking I stamped the blended panel with Weathered Words Background Stamp using Sea Salt ink. On darker colors Sea Salt creates a watermark look and I like the light texture this gave the inked colors.
I trimmed the panel and then die cut Mega Messages You’re the Best out of the panel. I cut the shadow die from Poblano Pepper and sandwiched the shadow die between the letters and the background popped up on foam tape. To finish up I added a few Sugar Cube enamel dots.

This last card is one I had a lot of fun with. I started by inking Petal Pusher Layering Stencil on Toffee Cardstock using Strawberry Milkshake, Fruit Punch, Cilantro and Lime Zest ink. After inking I decided I wanted to make things pop a little more so I got out my Prismacolor pencils and got to work. On the leaves I took a deep green pencil and added a little bit of depth to the base of the stems and leaves and a crease in the middle of each leaf. Next I took a white colored pencil and added some white highlights – for each I gently faded along the edges. For the flower petals I added a deep red along the inner edge of the petal and faded this out. I used this same pencil to add creases to the petals, fading to one side. I used a white colored pencil to add high lights around the tips of the petals and along the opposite side of the crease. In the center of the flower I used a honey colored pencil and a white colored pencil to add accents.

I added Thinking of You from So Many Reasons as the sentiment and a few clear Drip Drops and that’s all it needed.

I love your first card using the Poppyfields layering stencil and the All planned out three. I already earned the poppy fields Layering stencil and now because of your beautiful card I now have an idea on how to use it. I didn’t even know about the all planned out die. It looks like you used a little button in the lower right hand corner and you attached it with some twine. Did you put anything on the back of the button? Didn’t know if it needed any type of protection or you just left it as is. Anyway it’s a beautiful card and thank you for sharing and listing the colors. (so important). Definitely going to try to re-create this lovely card!
