TE Sneak Peeks: Americana

America by Jen Shults, handmade card, Taylored Expressions, Americana, July 4th, red white and blue, rustic

Hi everyone! I hope your week has been amazing so far! Today I have two projects to share with you for Taylored Expressions June 2019 Sneak Peeks. Today we are focusing on all things Americana and we have some gorgeous stuff for you.

First up for me is a new product that works with some older TE products. Home of the Brave – this gorgeous and rustic American flag super imposed on a map of the US works with the previously released Land of the Free die. To create my card today I stamped the flag/map on Toffee cardstock using Blueberry and Cherry Pop Ink. I used the mini cubes to allow me to easily ink the two different colors. I used the MISTI to help get even coverage (thought I liked the rustic look of slightly uneven ink on the Toffee cardstock). I die cut this with the coordinating die. I let the ink dry overnight and then used Versamark to stamp the sentiment from Handlettered 4th over the flag. I heat embossed with white embossing powder and then used a Versamarker pen to add a subtle shadow around the word America.

To finish the card I created a Toffee cardbase and used the Here Comes the Sun stencil with Toffee ink to create the striped background. I added a bit of twine and a Bluebarry star to the top. I layered on the map with foam tape and done!

My second card features Banner Year 4th of July (and Banner Year) along with a new stencil, Light Up the Night. I kept it simple, sponging Cherry Pop ink on Sugar Cube cardstock and fading away from the focal point. I stamped Sugar Cube ink on Blueberry cardstock for the banner and added a Sugar Cube Star and twine bow. I used the celebrate sentiment from Banner year and mounted the card on a Blueberry cardbase. Super quick and easy!
