TE Sneak Peeks: By The Chimney With Care
Hello Crafty Friends! It’s day three of Taylored Expressions sneak peeks! All of our new release products will be available Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 9 am PST. Today I have two fun projects to share with you! First is featuring a new TE Webstore Exclusive product: the Wreath Cutting Plate! This cutting plate is so fun and SO versatile. I have really loved seeing what all of the other TE designers have done with this die. I kept my card pretty simple as I wanted it to be something I could replicate easily so I started by cutting the die twice – once from Sweet Basil and once from Granny Smith. I kept all of the pieces so I can use the remaining pieces to create a second card.
Next I glued the Granny Smith wreath frame to a piece of patterned paper from the Playful Patterns 6×6 Paper Pack and inserted the leaves and small pieces from the Sweet Basil cut. For the sentiment I stamped Merry Christmas from the Rejoice stamp set on vellum with Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I V-E-R-Y carefully cut pieces of foam tape to hide behind the letters so I could pop the vellum up on front of the card. Then I tied a twine bow and attached it to the side of the sentiment. To finish off I added a few Ladybug Doodlebug Sprinkles and adhered the frame to a Sugar Cube card front and then the whole thing to a Cherry Pop cardbase.

My second card uses a new addition to the By the Fireside collection, By the Fireside Holidays. This is such a fun die set and really makes for a fairly quick but impressive looking card.
I started my card with stamping a Toffee cardbase with the Woodgrain Background stamp using Sugar Cube ink. I then die cut the By the Fireside fireplace pieces using Sugar Cube, Mulled Wine, Poppy Seed, Oreo, Lemon Meringue and Candy Corn cardstock. After assembling the fireplace I die cut four stockings from Red Pepper and Sugar Cube cardstock. Next I die cut the fireplace greenery from Sweet Basil and Peapod cardstock setting them over the top of the fireplace. I die cut three bows from Toffee to resemble burlap bows and placed them at even intervals over the greenery. I die cut the two candles from Sugar Cube and Lemon Meringue cardstock and put them to the left of the fireplace. The vase and wreath are from Door to Door Decor and fit perfectly above the fireplace.
I’ll confess this is my first time using these detailed scene dies and I think I’m hooked! They really create a lovely card and you can go simple or detailed! It’s up to you!!
