TE Sneak Peeks – You are Mer-Mazing
Hi! Welcome to day two of Taylored Expressions June ’19 Sneak Peeks! Today I have two more fun cards to share with you, all featuring summer/beachy themes. We have some amazing new scene building stamps and dies that you are going to LOVE.
My first card features a new background stamp and new stamp set, Make a Splash Background and Be a Mermaid stamps and Be a Mermaid die set. I started by stamping the Make a Splash stamp on watercolor cardstock with Versamark and heat embossing in gold. I used TE liquid watercolors in Lime Zest and Blue Raspberry to color the splashes.
Next time I use this stamp I’m going to apply the liquid watercolor directly to the stamp and stamp it that way for a loose watercolor look!
I sponged ink onto the mermaid tale in Be a Mermaid, blending from Lime Zest to Blue Raspberry and stamped on Sugar Cube cardstock. From there I die cut with the coordinating die. To add to the scene I sponged on some Blue Raspberry ink very lightly and selectively through the Bubbly Stencil. I added a sentiment stamped on Oreo and heat embossed in white with a twine bow and the card was done! I can’t wait to send this card off!

For my second card I made used a new stamp concept from TE – Build a Background. This background stamp features multiple pieces to create the scene you see below. It also include cut outs to make movable pieces as you can see with the tiger fish.
I started my card with a piece of Sugar Cube cardstock and my MISTI. I stamped the different elements of the background layering and drying ink in between starting at the bottom with Toffee ink for the sand layered with Mushroom, more Toffee, and Sugar Cube (some of the darker colors were stamped off once for a lighter effect). For the water I applied Cookie Monster ink at the top and Confetti Cake at the bottom for a subtle blend of color. The sky was sponged on using Gumball and a bit of Earl Grey ink.
I stamped the critters on Sugar Cube with Oreo ink and colored them with Copic Markers. The shells are from the Be a Mermaid stamp set and I inked them with a blend of Lime Zest and Blue Raspberry ink.
To make the tiger fish mobile I used on of the straight tracks from On the Right Track to create a puppet stick for him.
