Thinking of you with love

Hi everyone! Today is the last day of Taylored Expressions February release celebration. If you haven’t checked out all the amazing things for sale you should head over and see!

Today I have two cards to share with you, both featuring a lot of ink blending techniques and looks. My first card uses a new stamp and coordinating die called Big Cross.

To make this card:

Step 1: Create a Sea Salt A2 vertical cardbase. Cut a 4″x5.25″ piece of Sugar Cube cardstock. Adhere the largest Masking Stencil Rectangle and adhere the Here Comes the Sun Stencil to the Sugar Cube piece. Brush on Sea Salt ink with a blender brush. Remove stencils and set aside.

Step 2: Stamp Big Cross on Sugar Cube with Oreo ink. Die cut with coordinating die, keep border piece. Use Grape Jelly and Lavender Glaze ink to ink blend around the cross, lightening toward the center. Use a small paint brush and the your choice of gold paint from the Gansai Tambi through the larger swooshes on the cross and on the cross border. Allow to dry.

Step 3: Stamp Simple Strips Sympathy on Mocha cardstock with Versamark and heat emboss in white. Die-cut with coordinating die. Die-cut the Simple Strips Backer die from vellum. Adhere the sentiment strip to the backer with liquid adhesive (or adhesive of choice).

Step 4: Assembly – attach stenciled background to cardbase with foam tape. Center cross-frame and adhere to the background with liquid adhesive. Apply foam tape to the back of the cross and adhere to the center of the cross frame. Attach the sentiment over the cross with a foam strip.

My second card today features the new Church on a Hill border. I create a simple yet bold Easter card using this die.

To make this card:

Step 1: Create a vertical A2 cardbase using Sugar Cube cardstock. Attach the Herringbone stencil and ink with Sea Salt ink. Remove stencil and set cardbase aside.

Step 2: Cut a piece of 4.25×5.5″ Sugar Cube cardstock. Ink blend a sunrise/sunset using Lemon Meringue, Candy Corn, Lollipop, Jelly Donut and Blue Corn ink.

Step 3: Cut the second largest Stitched Rectangle Frame Stacklet from Sugar cube. Cut the inked sunset down to fit within the frame (slightly overlapping so they can be glued together). Die cut the Church on a Hill border from Oreo. Trim to fit on the sunrise background. Adhere at the bottom of the sunrise. Adhere the frame.

Step 4: Die cut the Tag Team die from Sea Salt cardstock. Stamp with the sentiment from Tag Team Easter using Earl Grey ink. Wrap end with twine and tie with small bow.

Step 5: Assembly. Attach the sunset piece to the cardbase with foam tape. Attach the sentiment piece to the bottom of the sunset piece with foam tape.
