This week our challenge was picked by the very talented and awesome Julie. 😀
Our theme is specifically about Alice’s past, before she met the Cullen family and was known as Mary Alice Brandon. We don’t know too many details about Alice’s life before the events of the Twilight saga occur, but if you would like a refresher on her past, visit the Twilight Saga Wiki here and read!
The craft portion is to depict an aspect of Alice’s history. You can take your inspiration from what we know from the actual Stephenie Meyer text, or you can use your imagination to depict something that could have happened in Alice’s past.
The comment portion – talk a bit about Alice’s gift. Would you like to possess her ability to see the future? Do you think that that would be a blessing or a curse?
Well, I’m running a little late. A sick kiddo and two days worth of lesson plans for school have me behind but I’m working on something right now! In the mean time go see what the other lovely ladies have made!
So here is what I came up with. This was quite the challenge but it was fun! I took a minute to think about what I had stamp wise and remember I had these to stamps from Unity that I thought would be perfect! When I saw this sentiment it reminded me of Alice’s journey to follow her visions to find Jasper. (I also used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch MOJO105.)
And here is the inside:
Now I’ve been giving Donna a rather large amount of grief about having 12 colors of Tim Holtz Distress Ink and only used ONE color, all the time. So in the spirit of that I thought I’d show off how lovely some of the other colors are. For this I used Old Paper and Vintage Linen together. I love the soft worn paper look. I even used it on the ribbon to give it an aged appearance. 😀
Here are the other card details:
Stamps: Unity KOM August
Paper: Basic Grey Porcelain, Bazzil Basics, PaperTrey Ink
Ink: Versafine Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Linen and Old Paper
Accessories: Spellbinders Nestabilities circles small, ribbon
Now go see the other stops on the hop. 😀
