In the quiet moments of the last couple of months I’ve been steadily working on a couple of crochet projects and I just finished one up in the wee hours of the night last night. I didn’t initially intend to stay up that late but there is something about the drive to finish a project when you get to the last couple of rounds of edging.<\/p>\n

The pattern for this one is called Greenway and it’s available as a free download here<\/a>\u00a0courtesy of Berroco. It’s a harlequin crochet pattern or Catherine Wheel type pattern. I used I Love This Cotton yarn for this as I wanted a soft cotton and it worked up wonderfully and I only ended up using about half of the yarn I anticipated so that was nice.<\/p>\n

This finished blanket is wonderfully soft and my husband desperately wanted me to make it into a full sized blanket for the house once he was able to see the pattern coming to life. I may have to start another one once I finish up a couple other projects though this was a bit of a slog to get through. This pattern is beautiful but not a quick one to stitch up, at least not for me.<\/p>\n

For the edging I did three rounds of single crochet in pale grey and one round in navy. I didn’t want to do anything fancier than that as the stitch pattern of blanket has enough going on and I think it is a nice contrast of texture. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
