Another Year Closer to Velcro Shoes

Hi everyone! Taylored Expressions is celebrating their 11th birthday and today is our last day of partying! Today I have two projects to share with you.

For my first project I have a slightly snarky fun birthday card to share with you. I started this card by stenciling the Confetti Toss stencil on a piece of Toffee cardstock with Blue Corn and Blueberry ink. I trimmed the bottom edge of the panel so it was just a little shorter than the cardbase. Next I used the TE Blender Brushes to ink blend Blue Corn, Blue Berry and Confetti Cake on Sugar Cube cardstock. I stamped the Big Cake stamp on the blended background using Versamark and heat embossed with TE white embossing powder. Next I die cut with the Big Cake die. I blended Potato Chip and Confetti Cake ink for the candles, stamped and heat embossed and die cut the candles. The YAY die cut is cut from Fruit Punch cardstock and the sentiment is stamped on Fruit Punch cardstock and heat embossed in white. The layers of the card are all separated with foam tape for depth and interest.

My second card today uses the brand new Backstory Birthday Background stamp with the Simple Strips Birthday stamp and Caps Lock Happy.

Card Directions:

To start I used TE’s Blender Brushes to blend Guava, Candy Corn, Pineapple and Key Lime on Sugar Cube cardstock. After letting the ink dry I stamped Backstory Birthday with Versamark onto the blended cardstock. Next, I heat embossed with white TE embossing powder. I trimmed the panel and rounded the bottom right corner. Caps Lock Hello was cut out of Key Lime cardstock and popped up on foam tape. Simple Strips – Birthday was then stamped on Fruit Punch cardstock and heat embossed in white. I used three of the strips to make a sentiment under the Happy – and I had to use the Treat ‘Yo Self sentiment because we have been on a HUGE Parks and Rec binge and I just LOVE that show!!
