Deconstructed Sketch No. 178

Deconstructed Sketch No. 178

Are you ready for Deconstructed Sketch 178? I hope you like it! Here’s the scoop on what you need to do:

1. Use the sketch up top to make a project, any kind you like using any image you like. Use the sketch to inspire your own creativity. Feel free to substitute shapes for what you have available and mount tags and circles to a card base if you’d prefer.

2. Post it somewhere on the internet (your personal blog, SplitcoaststampersFlickrPinterest, etc). Use keyword DS178.

3. Link back here to Inlinkz at the bottom of the post.

Thanks by Jen Shults using DS168 and Dies and Paper from Taylored Expressions

When I started my card today I was hoping to build up my stash of thank you cards for special occasions – specifically holiday parties so I grabbed my Wine & Dine dies from Taylored Expressions and got to work.

For my card I started by making a card base using Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Scalloped Circle cut out of Toffee Cardstock and then layered that with a Grand Nestabilities Circle cut out of Cherry Pop cardstock. I then pulled out my Gingerbread Lane Paper Pack from Taylored Expressions and layered a bit of Granny Smith cardstock with the two red patterns.

*Tip – To make this a little easier in a circle I layered my papers first, glued them together and then centered the circle die over the patterned paper and cardstock. This made it easier to keep every thing lined up and gave me a nice clean embossed edge.

Next I used one of the tails dies from Mix and Match Bows as a banner behind my ovals. For the focal panel I die cut to ovals, one out of Toffe and one out of Sugar Cube and layered them together. The wine bottle is cut using the Wine & Dine Dies from Taylored Expression. I created the label by die cutting the bottle on Toffee and trimming it down to label size. I added a bit of twine for embellishment and then die cut thanks from Shades of Thanks a couple of times and layered them together for thickness.
