Deconstructed Sketch No. 19
Happy Thursday! I hope your week is going well. It’s been an exciting week around here. We’ve been up to all sorts of nonsense and we have more to come this weekend. I’m SO excited!! My husband and I are going with some friends to see the Foo Fighters tomorrow night!!! I was able to go with my husband last year when they came and oh my WORD. It was a fabulous show. I can only hope this one will be as good. I’m a big fan!! Do you have anything exciting planned this weekend?
Well lets get down to that sketch for today. We are mixing things up a bit and changing the format of this post a little bit so don’t be worried if things look a little different. 🙂
This Week’s Sketch:
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed… but I like my symmetrical sketches, lol. 🙂
My Sample:
I tried a new coloring technique that I’ve been seeing here, there and everyone around blog land lately and I’m not sure I’m 100% sold on it. Make It Colorful was having a no lines challenge and I wanted to give it a shot (though I missed the challenge deadline). The main premise of the technique is that you stamp your image in a very light colored ink, I used Spun Sugar Distress Ink and then color with your Copics and use your shading to show the image without black outlines. It has a wonderful watercolor painting feel to it when done correctly. BUT I’m not going to lie… IT’S HARD!! This is definitely an advanced technique and I felt very challenged by it. And it doubled the time it took me to color the image. That said, you should try it cause it looks FABULOUS when done well.
I LOVE the Moka Tabitha stamp from Taylored Expressions and I’m going to be using her again soon! She’s so cute!!
Here are all the projected details:

Here’s where that change of format comes in! Instead posting all of the DT samples here they are going to be linking their projects into InLinks below and I’ll be listing out links to their links so you can head over to their blogs and leave them some love! On SUNDAY I’ll be posting their samples here along with some SUPER DUPER WOWY SOWY participant creations! (Sorry about that… I just couldn’t resist! One of my colleagues says that all the time and I’ve always wanted to say it!) So here they are! Go see what the design team has been up to! (I’ve already had a peek and they are FABULOUS!)
