Give Thanks

Give Thanks by Jen Shults, dies, papers and stamps from Taylored Expressions

I am definitely feeling the fall weather we’ve been having around Missouri this week and I LOVE it. It in turn inspired me to pull out some gorgeous fall browns and but together this super quick thank you card (that I hope makes a big statement).

To create the background I die cut the Houndstooth Cutting Plate out of copy paper and used it as a stencil to stamp Versamark Ink onto Sugar Cube Premium TE cardstock. I then heat embossed the cardstock with White Embossing Powder. After this cooled a bit I used Vintage Photo, Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey Distress Ink to sponge the background. If you give this a shot be sure to work light to dark – it makes it a bit easier to blend your colors. Next I used a dry paper towel to buff up the white embossing powder to remove any ink that was stuck to it. From there I built up the sentiment section using Banner Stacklets 1 cut out of Toffee Premium TE cardstock and Vellum. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed it with White embossing powder. The leaves are die cut using the Mega Leaves dies out of Candy Corn and Pumpkin Premium TE cardstock. I mounted all of this on a mat of Sugar Cube Premium TE cardstock and a cardbase of Bitter Chocolate Bazzill cardstock. Done!

Love the card! Thanksgiving is my favorite!! What did you attach your vellum expression with to your card stock? I would love to know

    1. Hi Barbara,

      Thanks for your comment!

To attached the vellum I first glued the leaves to the vellum and then used those to hide to little foam squares to attach the vellum.

      Hope that helps. 🙂
