Happy New Year?
Hi everyone! Taylored Expressions has a new release today featuring some fun new products to celebrate 2021! First up is a digital download that coordinates with the Big Grumpy line – Big Grumpy New Year download.
I may have gotten a little carried away stressing Big Grumpy Bear out with this sentiment… but seriously. It can’t be. Can it? NO!!! Big Grumpy Bear was colored with Copics and his hat and balloons from Big Grumpy – Birthday are glitz up with a little big of Star Dust Gelly Roll pen. In the background I used the Circle Masking Stencil with Here Comes the Sun to create the rays and added a second overlay of the Confetti Toss stencil with Versamark and TE Gold Embossing Powder. I didn’t quite let the first layer of ink dry enough so it’s a little messy but I like the look – it goes with the theme, lol!
To finish everything off I added a thin mat of gold glitter cardstock and a black cardbase and Big Grumpy is ready to celebrate… I think.
My second project is a set of thank you cards using The Right Angle stencil, Thank Script and Building Blocks – Be Bright. These all went together to quickly make a set of versatile thank you cards with personalized sentiments.
I had a lot of fun experimenting with color combinations for this set and got a LOT outside my comfort zone with a couple of these. This first one features Honey, Sweet Potato and Avocado ink.
The second one moves from Earth and 70’s to bright with Lime Zest, Blueberry and Plum Punch ink.
And I tested out a little blending with the last one fading from Lemon Meringue, Lime Zest and Confetti Cake down to Dijon, Sweet Basil and Blue Raspberry.
For each card I used the Thanks Script die and blending from light to dark with ink on Sugar Cube before die cutting. I layered with the Thanks Backer and added different additional sentiments from Building Block – Be Bright.
