Happy Halloween! TE’s August Release Day!!

Fall Trees, handmade card. Stenciling, Distress Oxide, ink layering, eclipse card. Supplies from Taylored Expressions

Hi everyone! I hope you week has been going well! Today is Taylored Expressions August Release day and all of the wonderful goodies we have been sharing with you this week are now available for purchase! Today I have two more fun cards to share with you. My first card uses Caps Lock – Fall and a sentiment from Cutting Edge – Fall. When I made this card I had been doing a lot ink blending and had just finished up the stenciled thank you cards I shared Tuesday and the ink pads were still out on my desk and the idea for stenciling the trees as born. I used the inverse of the Build a Scene Rolling Clouds dies to outline the trees and the Here Comes the Sun stencil to create the sun in the background. I used Distress Oxide over TE’s Blue Raspberry in the sky.

After the background was done I decided I wanted to create an eclipse card with the background to preserve as much of it as possible. I used a sentiment from Cutting Edge – Fall to layer over Caps Lock – Fall stamped on vellum and heat embossed in gold. I added a few gold glitter Doodlebug Sprinkles to finish off the card.

My second card is a shaker card using the new Bubble Greetings – Halloween. I stamped the image on Sugar Cube and colored it with Copics adding a few white gel pen accents. To create the shaker I used Stitched Circle Stacklets to create the opening, lined it with window acetate and lined the opening with foam tape. I used the new Shaker Bead Mix – Halloween beads to fill the shaker. I cut the main panel a little shorter than an A2 cardbase so I could slide in a pice of the the Playful Patterns – Black & White paper – I love that houndstooth! To finish up I added a black circle frame cut using Stiched Frame Stacklets – 2, a little white gel pen stitching and a twine bow.

Shaker cards are always a bit hard to photograph as the acetate reflects the spot lights back at me. 🙂
