Ink Blended Birthday Card by Jen Shults

Ink Blending!

Four ink blending examples

Today I’m popping in to share some fun ink blending using Taylored Expressions ink. Ink blending is one of my favorite techniques and a while back I took some time to experiment with different color combos and methods of blending. The panels above are the result! For all of my panels I used the Folk Art Tulip stencil and TE’s Sugar Cube cardstock. I’m a little obsessed with Taylor’s Folk Art supplies!

Taylored Expressions Ink Blends

The first blend I created uses Guava, Candy Corn and Toffee ink. I LOVE how the more subtle Toffee ink balances the boldness of the Guava and Candy Corn!

My second ink blend is one I always seem to gravitate towards – rainbow. I love that I can make so many different varieties just my mixing up the tones a little bit. This one has a bit more of a jewel tone and I really LOVE the Dijon ink in there as yellow! For this blend I used Jelly Donut, Blueberry, Cilantro, Dijon, Pumpkin and Cherry Pop.

My third blend is also a jewel tone blend using Blueberry, Blue Raspberry and Lime Zest. I adore blue and green blends… they are so relaxing!

My last blend is a more subtle light blend using Gumball, Lavender Glaze and Earl Grey. I really like how the Lavender Glaze transformed when mixed with the Gumball and Earl Grey – it’s the perfect transition!

Now I definitely couldn’t make all these blends and not make a card! I used the Guava, Candy Corn and Toffee blend to make a quick birthday card.
