Taylored Expressions January Release Day!

Introverts Unite, handmade card by Jen Shults

Hi everyone! Today is the release day for the Taylored Expressions January 2020 release! Everything we have previewed today and yesterday is available for purchase right now! Head over to the Taylored Expressions store to shop!

Today I have two projects to share with you and both are favorites from this release! We have a new Big Grumpy – Cat Stamp and Die Combo and he comes with some spectacular phrases as well as a new Big Grumpy Valentine companion set. My second card features a new Loved collection, stamp, die, and stencil companion sets.

To create the Big Grumpy – Cat card I started by stamping Big Grumpy Cat on Sugar Cube cardstock with Oreo ink and coloring him with Copics. I then stamped the sentiment in the middle of the sign (this sentiment is my spirit animal). To make the simple and quick scene I used the largest Rectangle Masking Stencil with Sprinkles and Peapod ink blended with the Blender Brushes. I added the sun and clouds from Little Bits – Sun and Clouds using Sugar Cube and Potato Chip cardstock.

My second card features the Loved collection, background stamp, cover plate die, and stencil. I used all three together to create this quick card. I started by stamping the background stamp on Sugar Cube with Oreo ink and heat setting. I then stenciled the hearts with a rainbow of ink. Next, I die cut the hearts with the coordinating die. I used the negative from the die as a positioner for the hearts, only using two of the vertical rows of hearts (this is a great way to get more than one card from a stamping session!).

For the sentiment strips, I used three of the strips from the new Mini Strips – Valentine stamp set cut with the new Mini Strips – Asymmetrical die. I stamped these with Versamark and heat embossed with TE’s Silver Embossing Powder. To finish up I added lots of clear Nuvo Crystal Drops between the hearts of different sizes.
