Joy To The World – DS128
Happy Thanksgiving to all my US readers! We are spending the day with loads of family and a turkey is in the oven bright and early (it already smells amazing!). I hope you have a wonderful day all over the world! We are continuing this week with Deconstructed Sketch 128 so here’s my second take on it. You can find the original post here with the linkup!
I used Verve’s brand new Christmas Joy stamp set along with a bit of designer paper from last years Festive paper pad from Authentique, a bit of Choice Buttercream cardstock from Taylored Expressions as well as a bit of Kraft cardstock and dark grey (from Bazzill I think). My color scheme is from this week’s Color Throwdown and I think I might be in love!
I decided this week I wanted to convert the sketch to an A2 card so my cardbase is A2 in size. I matted the whole thing in Choice Buttercream and started building all the individual elements. The embosses panel is embossed using the plaid embossing folder from the Sizzix Plaid and Snowflake embossing folder duo. I put the paper in the folder at an angle so the print is diagonal. The snowflakes are from Taylored Expressions Make a Snowflake die set. The smaller sentiment is die cut using Verve’s Flag It Die set. I did a terrible job glittering the snowflakes, lol. I need a Xyron sticker maker in the worst way for this but alas I don’t have one. I tried using Silver Smooch Glitz and was really disappointed in how little glitter actually came out with the brush from my completely full bottle so I sprinkled on some Martha Stewart super fine silver glitter but it didn’t want to stay stuck in the wet Smooch Glitz so I fought with it for awhile and this is what I got, lol. The center rhinestone was a bit of a necessity. 🙂
