Rainbow Hello
Hi! I hope everyone is having a great day! I have a card to share with you that I made this past weekend at Stamping Away 2016. I had such a great time on this craft retreat and was so so happy to be able spend the weekend with 15 amazing women who were so inspirational and just plain nice! It was wonderful. During the weekend I made 7 cards, two tags and colored a number of images that didn’t make it onto cards. I was also able to put some quality time in on Evey’s crochet blanket that I have not been spending enough time with lately.
One of the cards I made uses some fun MFT products that are new to me. 🙂 To make the rainbow background I pieced together Granny Smith, Lemon Meringue, Candy Corn, Lollipop, Plum Punch, and Cookie Monster Taylored Expressions cardstock in 5/8″ strips and die cut them with Die-namic Chunky Chev-ron Cover Ups die. *** Tip *** If you run a bone folder over the seams when you piece strips like this it really seals down the edges and makes for a very smooth layer.
After cutting the rainbow background I decided to cut the Cover Up die out again, this time out of Sugar Cube TE cardstock to fill in the white spaces as I didn’t like the way it looked with them unfilled. I cut a strip of Poppy Seed TE cardstock as a background for the sentiment and then cut out three Hello die cuts from Die-namics Happy Hellos and glued them together to give the word some dimension. I added a pink heart coated with Wink of Stella clear marker and I was done!
I’ll be back with more of my projects from the weekend retreat throughout the week!
