Share Joy Challenge 40: Hippo Birdy To You!
Hi everyone! I hope you are having a fantastic day today! It’s been boiling hot here the last couple of days so we have been taking it easy and heading to the pool as often as we can. My oldest has been at church service camp all week so it’s been pretty quiet!
There is a new Share Joy Challenge from Taylored Expressions today and this week we have a sketch or clean and simple challenge. I tried to use a little of both – I definitely used the sketch and if it’s clean and simple I guess it depends on your definition. 🙂 I have been wanting to use this stamp set FOREVER (Hippo Birdy from Taylored Expressions) and I finally had some time to color this week so I stamped up a bunch of these cute little animals and got to work!
I colored the Hippo using N0, N3, N5 and R00 Copic markers (my N1 is dry, dry, dry). And I used Y13, Y15 and Y00 for the birdy along with a little BV01 for shadows. After they were colored I die cut them and started putting together the sketch. I used the new Frame in Frame 2 dies for the border. I sponged a little Strawberry Milkshake ink on Sugar Cube cardstock to make the gradient background and I also sponged a little blue and green ink on the circle background behind the hippo. I just used what was on my blending tool so there is no telling what combination of ink that is, lol. I added a few clear sequins and I was done!
This card was designed with a friend who is expecting in mind. I was thinking I might put this in with her hospital care package for when she delivers her little girl. 🙂
Now here’s a look at this week’s challenge… I hope you’ll join us!!
