SJC18: Love

Love by Jen ShultsHi everyone! Today we have a fun new inspiration photo and sketch over at Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge.

For my card I did a pretty direct interpretation of the inspiration photo. 🙂 This was a really fun card to make. Gradients are one of my favorite things to include on a card. 🙂

Here’s a look at how the gradient for the letters came together:

Gradient Die Cut Letters

To start the gradient I sponged some Angel Pink Memento ink on Sugar Cube cardstock. Next I sponged a row of Rose Bud, lightly blending it up into the Angel Pink. The last row was of Love Letter, again lightly blended into the Rose Bud. I aligned the dies so that they picked up as much of the complete gradient as possible and then die cut them. ***Be sure to wipe your dies off with a paper towel after running them through the die cut machine as they will have picked up some of the ink from the paper. I sponged on a bit more ink just to the bottom edges of the letters after removing them from the dies.

So pretty. Love the gradient letters and the heart garland on the top. They look great with the wood pattern paper. TFS

I love your card. So pretty. I love, love the old wood background. Is the background one of Taylored Expressions? I would like to purchase some.

  4. Such fun lettering, particularly with the sponged colors! LOVE it on the woodgrain.
