Yay! I am so so excited to be joining the Sugar Pea Designs team this month as a guest designer. It’s been awhile since I’ve done some serious coloring and these adorable stamps got me back in the grove. We are starting off this month’s sneak peeks with a look at a super fun stamp set called Great Catch.
I started off by stamping the cute little raccoon fisherman on PTI stampers select white with Memento Tuxedo Black and coloring him with Copics. I used the neutral grays on him and if I had it to do again I think I would go with the warm grays but alas I need some refills before I can do that so neutrals it is. 🙂 From there I cut the image out and matted it on white after distressing things a bit. I also used Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to sponge the edge of the sky a little. The card base is A2 sized kraft. I wanted to keep this pretty simple so I added a layer of Steel Gray (MFT) with a strip of Jellybean (MFT) that I embossed with a woodgrain embossing folder (Cuttlebug). The sentiment was stamped in Espresso Truffle (Memento) and die cut using Banner Stacklets 3 (Taylored Expressions). I added a bit of sewing and distressed everything before assembling and it was done.
