Our hop theme is the November Studio Challenge for the Baker’s Dozen and here’s our challenge:

As crafters, we often talk about a hand-crafted Christmas. How much stamping do you do for the holidays?  Do you mail hand-stamped cards, make gift packaging, tags, handmade gifts?  Or do you stamp year-round, but not so much for Christmas?  Please show us some handmade tags and share a tip or two on how to keep stamping fun for the holidays.

Christams tags by Jen Shults

Those are some great questions! I usually craft quite a bit for Christmas. I try to make handmade cards for my family and co-workers as well as my crafty friends. Last year was the first year that I made handmade gift tags and I LOVED it so I’m trying to do the same thing again this year. I don’t usually have enough time to make handmade gifts as well but I do sometimes package up cards I’ve made throughout the year and give those as gifts.

Today I’ve made some Christmas tags using Label Stacklets 1 as a base and then layering different sizes of the dies to create the tag. I LOVE making tags this way and think it’s a very efficient way to make tags quickly. After I get all my papers sorted and picked I layout all the dies and run them through my Grand Caliber at once. So quick and easy – that’s what keeps me stamping during the holidays… quick and easy projects! After all the pieces were die cut I stamped the reindeer from Reindeer Food on each piece of Choice Snow White cardstock and attached the rhinestone to the noses. I then sponged the edges of everything with Vintage Photo ink and I distressed papers here and there.

Believe Christmas Tag by Jen ShultsTo assemble the tags I used the Best Glue Ever as well as foam tape to create dimension. At the top of the card I used a Jumbo Eyelet and burlap twine to create a hanger for the tags. I attached a bit more burlap twine and a jingle bell to each tag as well as a bit of Platinum Stickles around the sentiment “believe”.
