Hello Sunshine handmade card by Jen Shults | deconstructingjen.com | stamps and dies from Taylored Expressions

Hi everyone! It’s June release time at Taylored Expressions and today we are getting tropical. We have some gorgeous new stamps and dies to share with you today! We will be sneak peaking new products Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week with new products being available Thursday, June 8, 2016 at 9 am CST. You’ll be able to find all of the new products here.

First up is Tropical Trio and Build a Scene – Tropical. I was so so happy to see Build a Scene – Tropical. I love all the greenery in this set and the fabulous palm tree. For my card I paired up Build a Scene Tropical with the gorgeous bird from Tropical Trio colored with Copic markers. I kept the card pretty simple, creating a sponged ink sky and layering lots of elements from Build a Scene – Tropical at the base of the palm tree.

I used my a combo of Sugar Cube, Toffee, Peapod, Granny Smith, Watermelon, Chocolate Truffle, Cookie Monster, Sprinkles and Salt Water Taffy for this scene. I sponged on Salt Water Taffy and Sprinkles for the sky.

My second card is a quick clean and simple card using the wood planks from Sitting Pretty Nautical Accessories and Little Bits – Crustaceans. I paired these up with a fun sentiment from Under the Sea. I love this adorable little crab. I showed this card to my husband and he snorted a little and said “I’m going to need you to make me about 2 dozen of these.” LOL!!

I paired up all of these adorable elements with the Know the Ropes embossing folder. To make the double ended flag for the sentiment I used Banner Stacklets 4 and partially cut the die one direction and flipped it around and partially cutting it the other direction – viola – doubled ended banner!
