Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks: In Other Words – Tea and Take Your Place die
Hello! Welcome to the third day of Taylored Expressions November Sneak Peeks! The Baker’s Dozen is kicking off 4 days of projects (3 days of peeks and release day). We are releasing 20 new dies, 8 stamp sets, 2 embossing folders, 1 cutting plate, new pre-printed calendars, 1 set of punchables and 4 new cardstock colors! All products will be released on Thursday, November 6, @ 7 AM PST.
My first card uses In Other Words – Tea. This stamp set is wonderfully illustrated and was a lot of fun to color. I stamped the image on Sugar Cube cardstock using Memento Tuxedo black and colored it with Copic Markers. I cut the image out with Label Stacklets 6 and matted it in Toffee cardstock. The background was made by embossing Saltwater Taffy cardstock with the Lots of Dots embossing folder and layering it with a bit of cardstock from Doodlebug’s Kraft in Color designer paper. I then added a bit of seam binding and a small doily, also from Doodlebug. I made the bow out of seam binding using a Bow Easy.
My second project is a treat bag made using the new Take Your Place die. This die is SO FUN. You can use it for placecards or as a treat bag topper!
To start the treat bag I die cut the Take Your Place die out of Chocolate Truffle cardstock and then cut a 4″ x 11″ piece of Pumpkin Cardstock that I scored at 4 1/4″, 5 1/2″, and 6 3/4″. I then accordion folded the cardstock so it sat up like a gift bag. I layered the front of the Pumpkin cardstock with a bit of Chocolate Truffle and designer paper from Kraft in Color (Doodlebug). To make the decorative top I layered the front flap of the Take Your Place die cut with Pumpkin cardstock and brown polka dot paper from Kraft in Color. I then made a flower using the Friendship Blooms flowers and the smallest flower from Patio Party. I added branches from Branches, Banner and Bloom. I separated the flower from the branches with a twine bow and added and epoxy dot from MME to the center of the flower. The sentiment was cut from the Thanks included in Shades of Thanks. I cut three of these and stacked them to add dimension. The white banner behind the sentiment was cut using the Napkin Ring die. To finish off I tucked a wide fishtail banner cut using Banner Stacklets 1 that I embossed with the Lots of Dots embossing folder.
