Hello! Welcome to the second day of Taylored Expressions October Sneak Peeks! The Baker’s Dozen is kicking off 4 days of projects (3 days of peeks and release day). We are releasing 26 new dies, 13 stamp sets, 3 embossing folders, 1 cutting plate, a new 6×6 paper pack and 2 new cardstock colors! All products will be released on Thursday, October 2, @ 7 AM PST.
For my first card today I used the brand new Bethlehem Border. To create the background of my card I sponged Sugar Cube cardstock with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink to create the glow of the star and then fading out from there into Broken China and Faded Jeans Distress Ink. (The fade looks smoother in person – the camera exaggerated any seams in the blending.) I then die cut the border out of gray cardstock and glued it down hoping to show a dark night with a glowing single star. I added a bit of seam binding and bow. The sentiment is stamped on Sugar Cube cardstock using Tuxedo Black ink and is die cut with Banner Stacklets 1.

For my second card I used the adorable new Little Bits Stocking Die:
To start this card I used a Pea Pod cardbase and layered it with Sugar Cube cardstock. For the background piece I stamped the dotted line garland from Share the Light onto Sugar Cube cardstock using Bamboo Leaves ink and then attached the three stockings to the garland using foam tape. I added three tiny burlap twine bows and a bit of Stickles to sparkle them up. I stamped the sentiment inked with three inks – Lady Bug, Tuxedo Black and Bamboo Leaves Memento Ink.
Card Ingredients:
For my last card I used the new Sweater Weather cutting plate and Sing of the Season!
I started with a Sugar Cube cardbase and then die cut the Sweater Weather cutting plate using Cherry Pop cardstock. To make the designs different colors I attached strips of Peapod, Granny Smith, Salt Water Taff and Strawberry Milkshake cardstock to the back of the finished die cut so the colors would show through. I mounted this to the cardbase with foam tape. Next I used Label Stacklets 9 to but a label out of Sugar Cube cardstock and stamped it with a sentiment from Sing of the Season. I added a bit of stickles to the holly on the sentiment and popped it up on the Sweater Weather background using foam tape.

Oh my word…..what a stunning card! I love the first card for the feeling of serenity that your scene has given me. The second card is just fun – what’s more warm and fuzzy than stockings, hanging so sweetly? That third card is just uber-cool! Thanks for sharing!
I LOVE the scene you created with the first card and your sponging looks amazing! Your 2nd card is full of CAS fabulousness and the third with that cutting plate looks so cool! I haven’t had a chance to play with that yet but I’m dying to after seeing your card!
Love your cards, Jen! That bit of inking behind the star makes that one really special. And who can go wrong with that sweater cutting plate??? Great inspiration!
Love, love your Bethlehem card…amazing…do you have a youTube or can you explain how you did your shading of the star and sky with the ink pads?? I have those ink pads and the blending tool, but wasn’t sure how to use the blending too with the ink pads. Again, such a beautiful card!!!
Great cards! I especially love your Bethlehem scene.
Wonderful cards, Jen! I especially love the sponging on the first one.. you’ve created such a gorgeous sky!
I love all of these new products which are coming out for October. I would like to find an old cutting plate for the birch trees. Can you please tell me how I can locate one of these?
