Taylored Expressions Septmeber Sneak Peeks: Test Tube Caddy and Think Happy Thoughts
Hi everyone! It’s day three of a HUGE new Taylored Expressions sneak peek week to celebrate Taylored Expressions SIXTH birthday! We have LOADS going on this week to be sure to read all the way through to see what’s happening this month (and what you might win!!).
Today I’m using two fun new dies from Taylored Expressions – the Test Tube Caddy die and You’ve Been Framed Halloween. These dies are SO FUN. I knew as soon as I started working with them that I wanted to make Halloween treats for my kids (and hide them ASAP, lol).
I started with die cutting the Test Tube Caddys and assembling them. Next up I picked the frames I wanted to use from the You’ve Been Framed Halloween dies and set about making the scenes with those. For Evey’s I made a little piece of card stock sponged with clouds and then layered it with the tombstone frame. I die cut the frame out of yellow and gray also to highlight the tombstones and moon. On Ben’s I die cut the pumpkin stack out of Candy Corn and Lemon Meringue TE card stock and used the little negative pieces to fill in the glowing face. I lined the back of this with vellum. I attached both of these to the caddys with foam tape. I added a bit more embellishment at the top of the caddy with the Spiders and Spider Web dies for Evey’s and a bit of Hocus Pocus paper and Pinking Circles Stacklets for Ben’s. I embellished the test tubes a little bit with a bit of patterned paper, twine and a Mini Tag with their names.
My second card uses Think Happy Thoughts which is FREE this month with a $50 purchase! I LOVE this stamp and die set. It is so so perfect for so many occasions and that happy word die is just adorable!!
For this card I used the Sketch Selfie Share sketch challenge TE is hosting this month. This sketch challenge has a HUGE prize – $250 to spend in the TE store. WOWSA!!! To start off I die cut the happy word die from Think Happy Thoughts three times out of Cookie Monster card stock and glued them together to give the appearance of chipboard. Next I stamps the sentiment For You on Sugar Cube card stock and die cut it with a square die. Next I glued down the Happy die stack. I matted this with Granny Smith TE card stock. For the background I layered a bit of paper from Double the Fun with Sugar Cube TE card stock that is embossed with TE’s ZigZag embossing folder. For the little bit of embellishment I layered three flowers die cut from Patio Party and Banner, Branches and Bloom die out of Lemon Meringue TE card stock. The leaves are from the Banner, Branches and Bloom die and are cut out of Granny Smith and Peapod TE Cardstock. The scalloped bit is die cut with the Small Scallop Border die out of Cookie Monster card stock. The little banner is cut using Banner Stacklets 1 and Granny Smith TE Cardstock.
