TE August Sneak Peeks: Fall Friends

Today is day two of Taylored Expressions August Sneak Peeks. All the goodies I’m sharing this week will be available for purchase on Thursday from the TE store.

Sending Smiles Across the Miles, handmade card by Jen Shults

My first card uses a sweet new stamp set called Simply Smitten. With this adorable bear I went for a bit of a rustic look and pulled out my much ignored distressing tool to add some roughed up edges.

I colored the bear and flowers with Copic Markers on Sugar Cube cardstock and then die cut with the coordinating dies. The background scene was created by blending Salt Water Taffy and Granny Smith Ink over the Set the Scene cloud stencils with the TE Blender Brushes and die cutting with Stitched Oval Stacklets. For the background I stamped the Birch Tree Background on Toffee cardstock with Toffee ink. The sentiment is from Simple Strips – Friendship and die cut with the Simple Strips die. After everything was made I decided to rough up the edges of the card and the Mocha oval with a distress tool for a more rustic look.

The second card I have today is another rustic and fall themed card using a new Flip the Script set – Flip the Script – Pumpkin Tag Stamp and Die Combo.

To start I stamped the Autumn Leaves background on Toffee cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored the leaves with Copics and blended the edges with Toffee and Mocha ink. Next I stamped the Pumpkin on Sugar Cube cardstock using my MISTI stamp positioner and Candy Corn and Pumpkin ink. After the ink dried I colored the stem and leaf with Copic Markers for added definition. I added a few white gel pen dots to the background and tied a row of twine around the top to anchor the pumpkin. I adhered the whole thing to a Sugar cube cardbase and done!
